ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team finished the 2017 season at the Dig Pink Invitational on Saturday.
The Raptors were swept by Elmira in the morning, but rallied to hold off Baruch, 3-1.
Elmira beat Bard 25-19, 25-15 and 25-18. Natalie Schneider (Alden, NY) led the Soaring Eagles with 13 kills, 15 digs and two blocks. Taylor Kaznowski (Hamburg, NY) had 23 assists, and Kasey Campbell (Honeoye, NY) led the way with 17 digs. Elmira is 20-12.
Bard got eight kills from
Philippine Alba, 15 digs from
Kaylynn Tran and 16 assists from
Victoria Chou.
Later, Bard held off Baruch, 3-1, by set scores of 25-22, 14-25, 25-15 and 26-24.
The Raptors started fast, hitting .240 in the first set, and finished strong by hitting .312 in the fourth set. Alba had 13 kills, Tran had 11 kills, 15 digs and three blocks, and
Jewel Smith had 27 assists.
Alba finished her stellar career with a spot on the All-Tournament Team. She leaves as the school's all-time leader in digs.
