NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Bard College men's wrapped up United Volleyball Conference play for 2016 with loss to No. 7 Nazareth and No. 15 NYU on Saturday.
NYU beat Nazareth in the early match of the day, 3-1.
Nazareth swept Bard 25-11, 25-18 and 25-20. The Golden Flyers (22-8, 4-3 UVC) got eight kills and six digs from Robert Sarneckis (Lindenhurst, NY) and 19 assists from Jake Kemp (Phelps, NY).
Bard got four kills apiece from
Alex Adams and
Jesse Small.
Tyler Zowaski had seven digs.
Against NYU (12-11, 6-2 UVC), Bard lost 25-14, 25-14 and 25-20.
For NYU, Colin LaPorte (Manhattan Beach, CA) had a match-high 13 kills, along with three digs. Derrick Chiu (Cupertino, CA) had 28 assists and 11 digs.
For the Raptors, Adams again led his team with seven kills.
Shane McDonald and Small added six and five, respectively.
Mahir Sheikh finished with 10 assists, while
Kai Bernier-Chen had eight, with Zowaski finishing with five digs.
