CANTON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to SUNY Canton Sunday afternoon, 56-37.

The Raptors (0-6) and the Kangaroos (1-6) played a back-and-fourth game early in the day, trading baskets throughout the first half. After 20 minutes of play, Canton lead 18-15. 

Once the second half began, it was more of the same as each team battled for supremacy. Canton jumped out to a 25-17 lead in the third quarter following a layup from Jenifer Morgan-Aubin (Hartford, NY). The Raptors responded with their own run, scoring the next nine points to take a 26-25 lead.

But from that point until the end of the game, it was all Kangaroos, as the hosts proceeded to outscore Bard, 31-11, over the final 12:41 of the game. 

The Raptors were led on the day by Alexis Akingbade, who scored 15 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and recorded three steals. Sarah Morris added 10 points and six rebounds. 

Taylor Saltus (Clintonville, NY) led the way for Canton, as she tallied 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals. 

The Bard women will return to action, December 7th, as the team travels to Albany to take on Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
