ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's volleyball team swept SUNY Cobleskill, 3-0, in a non-league match on Wednesday night, improving their overall record to 8-8.
Set scores were 25-21, 26-24 and 25-21. It snapped Cobleskill's seven-match winning streak against Bard.
Bard had a small lead throughout the first set and won it by four. In the second set, Bard trailed 22-19 and 23-22 but pulled it out, 26-24.
Cobleskill led 17-15 in the third set, but Bard scored five of the next six points and pulled away for a victory.
Freshman
Sofia Koukia led the Raptors with 14 kills (.500), while
Tytravia Riley added six kills and eight digs.
Victoria Chou had 30 assists and four digs,
Zoe Morgan-Weinman had four aces, and
Alexis Akingbade have five kills and two blocks.
Philippine Alba led the squad with 11 digs.
The Fighting Tigers (5-12) got seven kills from Bailie Roberts (Fort Edward, NY).
The Raptors head to Rochester on Friday for four Liberty League matches in two days. They'll face 17th-ranked Clarkson, then Vassar on Friday night at RIT. On Saturday, they'll take on St. Lawrence and RIT at the same site.
