TROY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost its Liberty League opener at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, the Engineers went ahead off a corner kick just two minutes into the second half. Sophomore Dali Alarian (Folsom, CA) had her first shot blocked, but her second shot glanced off a Bard defender and went in.
RPI (5-3-2, 1-0-0 LL) had the better of the play and possession in the second half, outshooting Bard 9-0 in the last 45 minutes and collecting five corners to none.
Bard (4-3-1, 0-1-0) got four saves from
Kelsey O'Brien. The Raptors managed just one shot on goal, and that came in the first half.
