SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team opened the 2015-16 season with a hard-fought 7-2 loss to Union in a Liberty League contest on Saturday morning.

The Raptors prevailed at No. 1 doubles, as Ted Laport and Keillor Mose took down Zach Kaplan and Brendan Conry Jr., 9-7. Union led, 2-1, after doubles was done.

Laport played a three-setter at No. 1, eventually losing to Anthony Laurencio, 6-3, 5-7, 6-0. And Mose lost at No. 2, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to Kaplan. Freshman Satchel Fisher won his first college match, prevailing at No. 6 singles, but Union took the other three singles matches.

The Raptors will next host Mount Saint Mary College in a non-league match on Thursday night.
