PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost to Manhattanville College, 3-0, in the non-league opener for both teams on Tuesday night.

Set scores for the winners were 25-20, 25-16 and 25-16.

The Raptors never had the lead in the first set, but it was tied several times, including one last time at 15-15. The Valiants picked up the hitting percentage over those last 10 points and pulled away, 25-20.

Bard was done in by a 8-0 run in the second set - it broke a 4-4 tie - and the Raptors didn't get closer than six points the rest of the way in that one, dropping the set, 25-16. The Valiants hit .417 in the second set.

The Raptors were up briefly early in the third set, but Manhattanville put a couple of runs together and cruised, 25-16.

Manhattanville got nine kills and 10 digs from sophomore Meagan Dattoma (Port Jefferson Station, NY).

Bard got six kills, four aces and five digs from freshman Sofia Koukia, and five kills, two aces and 10 digs from sophomore Kaylynn Tran (New Orleans, LA). Freshman Victoria Chou had 18 assists and five digs, and senior Tytravia Riley added four kills and nine digs.

Up next for Bard is the Morrisville State Tournament this weekend. They'll play Pitt-Greensburg and MIT on Saturday, St. John Fisher and Morrisville State on Sunday.
