Kaylynn Tran made a school-record 15 saves, but the Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Clarkson University, 19-6, in a Liberty League game on Friday afternoon.
The Golden Knights (8-7 overall, 3-5 Liberty League) scored the first seven goals of the game in the first 15 minutes and never looked back. It was 11-2 at halftime, thanks to Tran making 10 saves in the first 30 minutes.
Junior Christine Wright (Watertown, NY) led the winners with four goals and four assists.
Clarkson outshot Bard, 43-11. Six of Bard's seven shots on goal went in; five of those came from Regan, and each was unassisted.
Alexandra Clarke scored Bard's other goal. Regan added five draw controls and three ground balls.
Tran broke the school record with 15 saves; the previous mark of 13 had been held by a couple of players over the years. Women's lacrosse became a varsity program at Bard in 2010.
Bard will wrap up the 2015 season on Saturday with a home game against St. Lawrence University at 2. It will be Senior Day for Regan,
Clara Sekowski,
Hannah Durham and
Hallie Nolan.
