POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team dropped its final United Volleyball Conference match of the season on Wednesday night, falling at Vassar, 3-0.
The hosts prevailed 25-12, 25-21 and 25-14. The Brewers improved to 16-12 overall and 3-5 in the UVC. Bard is 8-19, 0-8.
A 15-4 run in the first set broke it open, and the Brewers cruised to a 25-12 win. The second set was closer, but after getting to within 17-16, Bard faltered and lost the set, 25-21. Vassar hit .467 in the third set to complete the sweep.
Freshman Jorge Rivera (San Juan, PR) led Vassar with nine kills.
Bard got five kills from
Jesse Small, 12 assists from
Joseph Stier, and six digs from
Tyler Zowaski.
The Raptors have only the MIT Scramble remaining in the 2015 season. They face Endicott on Friday, then MIT and Lehman on Saturday.
