KINGSTON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Union College, 15-1, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
Union (4-2, 2-0 Liberty League) scored 19 seconds into the game and led 9-0 at the half. The Dutchwomen got goals from eight different players, including three goals and two assists from senior Emily McGrail (Westwood, MA).
Union's swarming defense forced 27 Bard turnovers, and limited the Raptors to 5-of-16 on clear attempts. The Raptors broke the shutout when
Joanna Regan scored an unassisted goal with 6:55 left in the game.
Alexandra Clarke collected four ground balls and forced three turnovers for Bard (0-5, 0-2). She also led the Raptors with four draw controls.
Up next for Bard is a non-league contest with Sage on Tuesday night at 6. That game, like Saturday's, will be played at Dietz Stadium in Kingston.
