HILLBURN, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team fought back a couple of times on Friday but eventually lost to College of Mount St. Vincent, 14-10, in a non-league game.
After falling behind 5-1 midway through the first half, the Raptors (0-2) cut the deficit to one twice, first at 5-4 in the first half, then again at 8-7 in the second half. But Bard never caught up, due in large part to seven goals and two assists from Mount St. Vincent senior Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, NY).
Four of the Dolphins' goals were player-up, as Bard drew six yellow cards to Mount St. Vincent's one.
Joanna Regan led Bard with three goals, two assists and nine ground balls. Freshman
Gemma Godfrey also had three goals,
Hallie Nolan had two, while
Philippine Alba and
Hannah Durham had one apiece.
Alexandra Clarke added an assist, and
Kaylynn Tran made 11 saves.
Bard has a week off until its next game, at Richard Stockton on Mar. 21 at 1. That game can be followed via Live Stats or Live Video right here.
