ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Bard College women's volleyball team split its final two matches of the 2015 season during the final day of the Dig Pink Invitational, hosted by SUNY Oneonta on Saturday.
The Raptors lost to Ramapo in straight sets, while defeating SUNY Plattsburgh in a five-set thriller, 3-2.
Freshman
Sofia Koukia was named to the All-Tournament team. She completed the final two matches with a combined 33 kills for a .500 hitting percentage.
Against Ramapo, the set scores were 25-19, 25-14, and 25-19.
For the Roadrunners (17-7) Larysa Iwaskiw (Westwood, NJ) had 15 kills and 16 digs for Ramapo, while Kaitlin Mac Iver (Hillsdale, NJ) had 31 assists. Iwaskiw also had three aces to pace her team.
For the Raptors, Koukia continued her impressive freshman year with 17 kills along with five digs. Classmate,
Victoria Chou also had an impressive day with 25 assists against Ramapo.
Tytravia Riley had six kills.
Philippine Alba finished with eight digs, while
Julia Berry had nine.
Against SUNY Plattsburgh the set scores were 25-21, 25-27, 25-22, 16-25, and 15-11.
Koukia led the Raptors with 16 kills and had six digs, while
Kristen Westerduin had 13 kills. Chou finished with 41 assists, making it the 19
th match this season with 20 or more assists, while Alba finished with a team-high 13 digs.
Kaylynn Tran and Berry each had four aces, while Tran had 10 digs and Berry had 12.
The Raptors finished with 16 aces, had seven team blocks, and had a .261 hitting percentage in the match.
Izzy Ruff (Garner, NC) led the Cardinals (13-21) with 16 kills along with 10 digs, while Emily Miller (Au Sable Forks, NY) had 10 kills. Sydney Gabriel (Rockville Centre, NY) had 39 assists and three aces.
