CANTON, N.Y. - A day after winning the biggest game in the program's history, the Bard College women's soccer team got shut out by 21st-ranked St. Lawrence, 1-0.
The Saints (8-2-0 overall, 2-1-0 Liberty League) had the better of possession, but the game was scoreless at halftime. St. Lawrence took the lead in the 50th minute, when Hannah Merriam (Elmore, VT) pounced on the rebound of a blocked shot and punched it into the upper corner past Bard keeper
Kelsey O'Brien.
The Raptors (5-4-1, 1-2-0 LL) were outshot 11-1 in the game, with
Gemma Godfrey getting that lone shot off. O'Brien was called on to make just one save, because only two of St. Lawrence's 11 shots were on goal.
Bard completes a six-game stretch of road games on Tuesday night with a Liberty League game at Skidmore. Follow the action via Live Stats or Live Video right here.
