SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Dylan McDonald's goal in the 83rd minute broke a scoreless tie, and the Bard College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Mount Holyoke in a non-league game on Saturday.

It was the first meeting between the schools in women's soccer.

A long cross from Nicole Ellin was touched by Abbey Labrecque into the box, and it deflected off a Mount Holyoke defender out of the box to McDonald. She blasted a shot from 25 yards to the upper left corner to beat Amanda Manaster (Beverly Hills, CA) for a 1-0 lead.

The Lyons (9-6-1) threatened late with a corner kick, but so did Bard, as Avalon Qian's shot was stopped by Manaster in the final minute.

McDonald had an earlier opportunity to score and she hit the crossbar in the 63rd minute. Bard finished with a 16-8 advantage in shots, and Mount Holyoke collected eight corners to three, but Ryan O'Connell stopped four shots to pick up her second consecutive shutout.
