Hot-shooting Clarkson runs away from Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - A 15-2 run midway through the first half broke open a close game, and the Clarkson University women's basketball team defeated Bard College, 76-41, in a Liberty League game on Friday night.

Bard led, 12-11, with just under 13 minutes left in the first half, but Clarkson put together a 25-9 run to take a 37-20 halftime lead. The Golden Knights shot 50 percent from the field in the first half and scored 13 points off of 10 Bard turnovers.

In the second half, Bard trailed 45-30 when Clarkson scored 14 unanswered points to put the game away. Clarkson shot 49 percent from the field for the game and blocked 10 shots. The winners got 21 points from senior Cara Manfredi (Glastonbury, CT) and 18 points from freshman Devin Sorell (Hannibal, NY). Ashley Loggins (Albany, NY) added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Bard got a huge game from junior Tytravia Riley, who had 25 points, 16 rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
