Women's volleyball team opens season at Scranton Invitational

Bard lost a pair of matches on Friday and will play two more on Saturday at the Scranton Invitational.

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Bard College women's volleyball team opened the season with a pair of losses at the Scranton Invitational on Friday.

The Raptors lost, 3-0, to both Keystone College and Pitt-Bradford.

Set scores against Keystone were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-23. Tytravia Riley and Amy Kassowitz each had four kills for the Raptors; Kassowitz also had nine assists, two aces and four digs. Daniella Azulai led Bard with eight digs, and freshman Sarah Peskin added five assists and four digs in her first collegiate match.

Bard then lost to Pitt-Bradford, 25-19, 25-19 and 25-13. Zoe Morgan-Weinman led the way with four kills, Kassowitz had nine assists, and Philippine Alba contributed a team-high five aces and 10 digs.

The Raptors will play Wentworth on Saturday morning at 11:30, then another match that will be determined at the end of pool play.
