Raptors sweep Brooklyn for third straight win

Kevin McDonald fended off Brooklyn's Chad Stevens 7-5, 6-4, at No. 1 singles on Tuesday night.
SAUGERTIES, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team won its third straight match on Tuesday night, sweeping Brooklyn College, 9-0, in a non-league contest.

The Raptors (4-5) swept all three doubles matches, then got into some tough individual matches in singles. Kevin McDonald defeated Chad Stevens (Bayport, NY) 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Ted Leport beat Robin Varughese (New Hyde Park, NY) 7-5, 6-0 at No. 2. Max Meynig won a tiebreaker in the second set of his match at No. 5, but overall, Bard didn't lose a set to the Bulldogs (4-5).

Bard's next match is against Liberty League opponent Hobart College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Annandale.
