ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's and women's swimming & diving teams opened the 2014-15 season with a home tri-meet against Bethany College and SUNY Cobleskill.

On the men's side, Bethany defeated Bard 151-60, and Cobleskill topped Bard, 140-61. Bethany defeated Cobleskill 131-89.

On the women's side, Bethany beat Bard 123-56, and Cobleskill beat Bard 163-50. Bethany edged Cobleskill 114-100.

Bard highlights included Scott Vander Veen taking second in the 100-free and 200-free; Emily Hoelzli placed second in the 1,000-free and third in the 500-free; and Haley Goss-Holmes was third in both the 200-IM and 100-back.

The Raptors next host Vassar College on Wednesday at 5.
