Box Score 2 POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost a pair of Liberty League matches on Friday, getting swept by both Clarkson and Rochester Institute of Technology.
In Bard's first match of the day, the Raptors took on Clarkson, the defending Liberty League champion and an NCAA Elite 8 qualifier in 2012. The Golden Knights cruised, 3-0, by set scores of 25-4, 25-14 and 25-12.
Senior Xiao Liang (Tianjin, China) had 10 kills and hit .529 for Clarkson, 10-4 overall, 2-0 in the Liberty League.
Bard got four kills and nine digs from
Amy Kassowitz.
Bard lost to RIT, 3-0, by set scores of 25-10, 25-17 and 25-9. Freshman Sarah Szybist (Chicago, IL) led the Tigers with 20 kills, 10 digs and a .548 hitting percentage.
For Bard,
Tytravia Riley had three kills,
Lexi Cooper had six assists and
Daniella Azulai had nine digs. The Raptors are 2-13 overall, 0-3 in the Liberty League.
Bard will play at St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon as a continuation of Liberty League play in the North Country.
