Women's volleyball team loses to University of St. Joseph

Rebecca Speckenbach had eight kills in Bard's loss to University of St. Joseph on Tuesday night.
Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost a non-league match to University of St. Joseph, 3-0, on Tuesday night.

Set scores for the winners were 25-20, 25-15 and 25-15.

The first set was tied at 15-15 before the Blue Jays (6-7) pulled away. The Raptors got to within 23-20 but could not get closer.

University of St. Joseph jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the second set and never looked back. In the third set, Bard (2-11) got up 8-2, but the Blue Jays rattled off 10 straight points and hit .429 in the final set to earn the victory.

For the winners, Emily Vigue (Lebanon, CT) had 12 kills, Ciara Perez (Manchester, CT) had eight kills and nine digs, and Megan Williams (Lakeville, CT) had 29 assists.

For Bard, Rebecca Speckenbach had eight kills and four digs, Anna Kornfeld had 14 assists, and Lexi Cooper had 10 digs.

Bard will return to Liberty League action this weekend. The Raptors will play RIT and Clarkson at Clarkson on Friday night, then travel to St. Lawrence for a match on Saturday.
