Baseball team swept by Purchase

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Purchase College on Saturday, losing the first game, 15-0, and the second game, 17-0.

Bard (3-10) managed just three hits in the opener, singles by Alec Montecalvo, Adam Flowers and Andres Medina. Purchase (11-9) scored seven unearned runs and got a good start from freshman righthander Adam Brant (Hyde Park, NY), who gave up three hits over five innings.

The second game belonged to Purchase sophomore Mitch Paz (Bridgeport, CT), who yielded just one hit - an infield single by Ryan Conklin in the first inning - and struck out 16 over seven innings. The Panthers had 16 hits, including six doubles. Senior Daniel Stroud (Nyack, NY) went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI.

The Raptors have two away games this week, at SUNYIT on Tuesday and at CCNY on Thursday.
