Not against Hobart.
The Liberty League-leading Statesmen came to Bard on Saturday, built an early cushion and cruised to a 76-59 victory over the Raptors. Hobart, which never trailed, improved to 16-6 overall, 12-1 in the Liberty League.

Hobart junior Richie Bonney (Norwich, NY) scored 10 points in the first seven minutes, and Hobart's lead was seven midway through the first half. Then it was 12. Bard had one of its better-shooting halves of the season (52%) but was down 41-26 at halftime.
Bard battled and tried just about everything to change the course of the game, but Hobart kept the lead between 12 and 17 points for most of the second half. After a layup by
Lamar Powell cut the Hobart lead to 59-49 with 6:33 left in the game, the Statesmen pushed it back to 16 and were never threatened afterward.
Hobart's Stefan Thompson (Syracuse, NY) led the Statesmen with 20 points and seven assists; Bonney had 19 points and six rebounds; Connor Rehbaum (Cheektowaga, NY) added 16 points and Joe Gibbons (Lindenhurst, NY) chipped in with 10. Hobart shot 54 percent for the game and outrebounded Bard, 26-22.
Bard (4-19, 1-14) got 21 points and three steals from Powell, 16 points from
Siondueh Burnette, and 13 points from
Jeremy Arnstein. Freshman
Brandon Cunningham led the Raptors with seven rebounds to go with his four points.
Bard has one Liberty League game left, on Tuesday at home against RPI at 8 p.m. The final game of the season will be played on Friday at 7:30 against Berkeley (NJ) in a non-league contest.
