BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Freshman Alex Fabean-Scotch scored 14 of his career-high 21 points in the second half as the Bard College men's basketball team held off Sarah Lawrence College, 68-59, in a non-league game on Sunday afternoon.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Raptors, who are 3-4.

Bard led by as much as nine in the first half, but the lead was 31-25 at halftime. Neither team was shooting the ball particularly well - Bard 31 percent, Sarah Lawrence 35 percent - while rebounds and turnovers were just about even.

The Gryphons (3-4) were never out of it and eventually took the lead. The score was tied five times in the second half, and Sarah Lawrence grabbed its last lead, 46-45, with 6:25 left in the game. Chris McNaughton hit a pair of free throws a few seconds later, and Bard never trailed again. It was a 10-4 run over a five-minute stretch, and the Gryphons didn't get closer than five, as the Raptors went 11-for-14 from the foul line over the last two minutes.

Fabean-Scotch led all scorers with 21 points, and also grabbed six rebounds. Lamar Powell added 19 points, while Siondueh Burnette finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Sarah Lawrence got 16 points and nine rebounds from 6-foot-8 freshman Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, CA) and 10 points and 11 rebounds from freshman Steven Radosavljevic (Lazarevac, Serbia).

Bard has one game remaining before winter break. It will host Albany College of Pharmacy on Thursday night at 8. Follow that game via Live Stats or Live Video right here.
