Men's tennis team tops Brooklyn College

Bard's Erik Wallulis won a tiebreaker in the first set, and went on to win his match at No. 4 singles on Saturday afternoon.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team picked up its first win of the spring portion of the 2011-12 schedule with a 6-3 win over Brooklyn College in a non-league match on Saturday afternoon.

The Raptors won four of six singles matches and two of three doubles matches to improve to 2-3 overall.

Brian Bollman, Kevin McDonald, Joel Richmond and Erik Wallulis each won in straight sets at Nos. 1-4 singles, respectively. Wallulis won a tiebreaker in the first set of his match against Cheyne Tribbey at No. 4 singles.

Bollman and McDonald teamed to win at No. 1 doubles, while Richmond and Wallulis didn't yield a single game in winning at No. 2 doubles.

The Raptors next host Mount Saint Mary College on Thursday night at 6 in another non-conference match.
