Bard swept by No. 7 Nazareth

Senior Nick Chan had 17 kills, but Bard was swept by No. 7 Nazareth on Saturday.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was swept by seventh-ranked Nazareth College, 3-0, at a United Volleyball Conference Crossover meet on Saturday afternoon.

The Raptors fell to 0-7 in the UVC and 6-12 overall with a 25-9, 25-20 and 25-15 loss.

Nazareth (16-5, 6-2 UVC) dominated, hitting .371 as a team, including .533 in the first set. Senior Billy Gimello (Hauppauge, NY) had a team-high eight kills, and seven other players recorded at least three kills for the winners. Senior EJ Wells-Spicer (Phelps, NY) had 30 assists and eight digs.

The Golden Flyers take on No. 8 Stevens Tech on Sunday at 9 a.m., then finish the weekend with another UVC match against SUNYIT at 3:45 p.m.

Bard got 17 kills from senior Nick Chan, 20 assists from sophomore Henry Kasiske, and six digs from senior Brice Ormesher. The Raptors play UVC foe Hilbert at 9 a.m. Sunday, then ninth-ranked Medaille at 1:30 p.m.
