Women's volleyball snaps skid, sweeps pair

Cara Chalk led Bard to two wins on Saturday. She had 16 kills against MCLA and 10 against Johnson State.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - The Bard College women's volleyball team snapped a 10-match losing streak with a pair of victories on Saturday.

The Raptors rallied from a set down - twice - to defeat host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, 3-2; then topped Johnson State College, 3-1.

Set scores against MCLA were 23-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20 and 15-8. Cara Chalk had a career-high 16 kills and hit .302, while also added two digs and three blocks. Lexi Cooper had 20 assists, Anna Kornfeld added 10 assists, Amy Kassowitz had 14 digs, and Ruth Lakew contributed 13 digs. Tytravia Riley chipped in with seven kills and .400 hitting percentage.

Set scores against Johnson State were 25-14, 24-26, 25-15 and 25-19. Chalk had 10 killls, Riley added eight kills with a .471 hitting percentage, Kornfeld had 22 assists and seven aces, and Lakew had eight digs. The Raptors produced their best-hitting set of the season when they hit .429 in the fourth set.
