Bard women's volleyball swept by Vassar

Freshman Tytravia Riley had six kills in Bard's loss to Vassar on Wednesday night.
Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost to Vassar College, 3-0, in a Liberty League match on Wednesday night.

Set scores for the winners were 25-8, 25-13 and 25-14.

Bard got behind 13-1 in the first set and never recovered; the Raptors trailed 16-10 in the second set before Vassar pulled away; and a rally in the third set closed Vassar's lead to 16-13 before the Brewers scored nine of the next 10 points to close out the match.

Vassar, 14-6 overall and 6-3 in the Liberty League, hit .450 for the match and got nine kills from senior Brittany Stopa (Foxboro, MA).

Bard (5-15, 0-9) got six kills from freshman Tytravia Riley, nine assists from freshman Anna Kornfeld, and five digs from junior Mai Aurell-Foulser.

Up next for the Raptors is another Liberty League weekend. They'll play RIT at Vassar on Friday at 5, then host Union (11 a.m.) and Skidmore (1:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
