Bard men's tennis falls to Ramapo

Junior Joel Richmond lost a heartbreaker at No. 3 singles, losing a first set tiebreaker, then a super-tiebreaker after winning the second set.
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team lost to Ramapo College, 9-0, in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon.

Bard managed to win just five games in the three doubles matches, losing 8-3, 8-0 and 8-2.

All but one of the singles matches were decided in straight sets. At No. 3 singles, junior Joel Richmond (New Hartford, N.Y.) rallied from a set down to force a super-tiebreaker, but eventually lost to Ramapo freshman Evan Clayton (Hillsborough, N.J.) 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, and 15-13 in the super-tiebreaker.

Bard, 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the Skyline Conference, will go to the United States Tennis Center in Flushing, Meadows, N.Y., on Sunday to play a league match against Polytechnic Institute of NYU.
