PURCHASE, N.Y. - Defending Skyline Conference champion SUNY Purchase, which has a surprising three conference losses so far this season, took out its frustration on Bard on Thursday night.
The Panthers ran out to an 11-0 lead, led by 24 at half, then outscored Bard 53-14 in the second half en route to a 101-38 blowout.
The Panthers had five players score in double figures, led by senior guard Michael McNair (Valley Cottage, NY), who made 6-of-7 three-pointers and finished with 20 points. SUNY Purchase is 11-4 overall, 7-3 in the Skyline Conference.
Bard (1-15, 1-10 Skyline) got 12 points from sophomore
Frank Stortini (Red Hook, NY), seven points from junior
Yonah Greenstein (Rego Park, NY), and six points apiece from senior
Christian Marghella (Closter, NJ) and sophomore
Jeremy Arnstein (Washington, DC). This was Bard's most lopsided loss since a 103-39 defeat to Lehman College in December of 2000.
The Raptors hit the road again on Saturday for a Skyline Conference game at SUNY Old Westbury.
