His coaching experience includes positions with Mt. Pleasant Soccer Club, Bridge Football Club, the College of Charleston, Porter Gaud High School, Steel Soccer Club, and numerous collegiate summer camps. After five years serving his local community as a Town Board member, Michael most recently joined Steel Soccer Club in the Hudson Valley as a volunteer assistant coach for the club's U-19 and U-24 women's teams.

Prior to his move to New York, Moran coached club soccer with Mt. Pleasant Soccer Club and Bridge Football Club in Charleston, South Carolina. The many teams he worked with included U-15 and U-16 South Carolina state champions that he helped guide in the Southeast Premier League, the first region-wide club women's league in the southeast.

Moran also gained collegiate coaching experience with the Division I women's soccer program at the College of Charleston, where he assisted coaches Kevin Dempsey and Tim Santoro. In addition, he served as Junior Varsity Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Porter Gaud High School and worked as both an assistant and head coach at the Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy and Kevin Dempsey Soccer Academy.

As a player, Moran was the first Division I soccer player in the history of Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Kentucky when continuing his career at the College of Charleston as a scholarship student-athlete. He also gained international experience with SV Lycurgus while living and playing in Groningen, Netherlands.

When not on the pitch, Michael and his wife, Celia, are on their third decade of working together designing and building custom furniture. He is often found hiking, attached to the leash of their third greyhound, Finnegan.
