Mike Galantich is in his fourth season as the head coach of Bard women's lacrosse and fifth season overall. Galantich arrived at Bard in 2022 as the assistant coach and was elevated to head coach in 2023.Â
During the 2025 season, Galantich had nine Raptors named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team and five Raptors named to the CSC Div. III Academic All-District team. Izzi Popolizio finished her career 3rd in career points (134) and 1st in career assists (65). She also was t-5th most assists in a single season (15 in 2025).
During the 2024 season, Galantich had 10 Raptors named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team, four Raptors were named to the CSC Div. III Academic All-District Team and five Raptors were selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. Izzi Popolizio broke the school record in assists in a single season and was named to the Honor Roll. Maggy Peyton set a new school record for goals scored in a single game, scoring eight goals.Â
In his debut season at the helm, Galantich had three players named to the Liberty League Honor Roll; three Raptors were selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and 11 Raptors were named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team.Â
Galantich arrived at Bard in February of 2022, after 10 years as the Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at nearby Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie. He was an assistant coach at Bard during the 2022 season, he was named Interim Head Coach in October of 2022, and Head Coach in November of 2022.
He was the Poughkeepsie Journal's Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2015, and after the Warriors won the league championship in 2017, he was named the Hudson Valley Sports Report Coach of the Year. Galantich had a prior stop as an Assistant Coach at Millbrook High School.Â
A graduate of Mount St. Mary College with a B.A. in Business Administration, Galantich retired in 2021 after more than 34 years as a Project and Operations Manager at Con Edison.
