Sam Spadaro has been named as the next Head Coach of the Bard College Women's Basketball program on May 2026.
Spadaro's coaching experience includes stops at Colby College and The College of Staten Island. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively in player development, recruiting, scouting, operations, and strength and conditioning at both the collegiate and AAU levels.
She most recently served as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Colby, where she assisted with practice planning, scouting reports, travel coordination, and recruiting efforts on both the regional and national levels. She was responsible for teaching and implementing the program's defensive schemes and strategies, helping the team rank among the top defensive programs nationally throughout the season. She also led individual film and player development sessions with the team's guards, including Kate Olenik, a NESCAC all-conference player.
Before her time at Colby, Spadaro was an assistant coach for three years at The College of Staten Island, a D2 program in NY. She was responsible for scouting, recruiting, and guard development. In the team's first year of playoff eligibility (after transitioning from the D3 level), the Dolphins earned a spot in the conference playoffs and won their quarterfinal game against a higher ranked opponent before losing to the #1 seed in the semifinals. Spadaro coached an All-Conference & All-MET player, Jenalyse Alarcon, in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
Spadaro is originally from Staten Island, NY and graduated from Springfield College in 2019 earning a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science while competing as a member of the Women's Basketball program. In 2021, Spadaro graduated from Temple University with a Masters in Sport Business, where she was a graduate manager for the Women's Basketball team.
