Raised in the Hudson Valley, Robert swam for John Jay High School where he achieved four school records and two pool records before continuing his swimming at SUNY Cortland.Â
While at Cortland he received a B.S.E in Physical Education with a concentration in both Coaching and Aquatics.
He went on to receive a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Arizona.
After a 25-year break from competition, Robert returned to competitive swimming. In 2013 he qualified and went to national level competition, where he won 2 bronze medals . Also in 2013, he held 3 times in the top 5 in the U.S. in his age group (100 yd IM, 200 yd IM, and 100 yd Freestyle).
Currently Coach Rogan is a full time Board Certified Physician Assistant in Orthopaedic Surgery/Sports Medicine with Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County.
He is certified in both general medicine and surgery as well as receiving additional training and certification in sports concussion evaluation and treatment.
