Brian Mitko joined the Bard men's soccer staff in August of 2013.
Brian graduated from Skidmore College in the spring of 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. He played soccer and lacrosse in each of his four years at Skidmore, and he was captain of the soccer team in 2012. In his senior year, he earned ECAC Regional honors twice as Defenseman of the Week and was the Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week four times.
A native of Clinton, Conn., Brian has made community service a priority in his life. He volunteered for four weeks at Adaptive Sports Foundation in Wyndham, N.Y., where he helped Wounded Warriors relearn sports activities after suffering war injuries. He worked the Soccer Without Borders camp at Skidmore for four years, which raised money to buy soccer equipment for needy children. And he helped in his hometown's efforts to honor local police and firefighters in the wake of the tragedy in Sandy Hook, Conn.
