Leslie Martin came to Bard in August of 2019.
As she pursued an Associate's Degree in Sports Management at SUNY Cobleskill, Martin won three NJCAA Div. III National Championships in track & field, in the high jump in 2004, and in the high jump and pentathlon in 2005.
She accepted an athletic scholarship to East Stroudsburg University and continued to shine, earning Indoor Track & Field All-American status in the high jump in 2007, and was an Outdoor Track & Field All-American in the heptathlon that same year. That earned her NCAA Div. II East Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year honors. She graduated from East Stroudsburg with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2008.
She completed a Master's Degree in Outdoor and Environmental Education at SUNY Cortland in 2011, while working for two years as a graduate assistant track and field coach there.
She has been working as group fitness instructor and personal trainer since, at S.W.E.A.T. Revolution from 2014-18, and at Fitness Fusion of the Hudson Valley from 2018-19.
