The Bard College men's soccer team fell to the Hobart Statesmen, 1-2, on Saturday afternoon.
Bard scored first on a set piece, as

Henry Skeltis with a free kick at the 16:16 mark for a goal to the bottom left of the net. However, just over six minutes later, Hobart tied it up after applying pressure on the Bard defense.
Jake Sudit made a save on a long range shot with under 12 minutes remaining in the first half, and the Bard defense was stout to keep the 1-1 scoreline.
With 40 minutes left in the contest, Hobart generated a corner. Skeltis emphatically headed away the cross to make the stop. Bard had a good opportunity to score at the 60:35 mark, when it drew a corner.
Luca Costanzo set up
Wolfe Ginsberg for a header, but it went off target to the right. Sudit had a leaping save to his left post under a minute later. At the 64:39 mark,
Mateo Betelu bounced a shot towards the goal, but it was saved. Hobart scored the game-winning goal off a corner.
Betelu had two shots, one on goal in 69 minutes in his return. Sudit had four saves in 90 minutes, while
James Bird,
Wolfe Ginsberg, and
Charalambos Vattis all played 90 minutes in the field.
Bard hosts Vassar on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for its Morgan's Message game.
