Three Track and Field Student-Athletes named to the 2026 CSC Division III Academic All-District Team

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Three members of the Bard College track and field team were honored as the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Academic All-District team, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the track and in the classroom.

The three students honored were sophomore Calvin Thomas and seniors Carina Cooke and Bo Hopwood.

Calvin Thomas is majoring in Philosophy. He competed in the 8k during cross country season, the mile and the 3000m in the indoor track and field season, and the 800m, 1500m, 2000m steeplechase, 3000m steeplechase, the 3000m, and the 5000m in the outdoor season. Thomas ranked 50th in the Mideast region in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:03.52. He is a Liberty League All-Academic team member.

Carina Cooke is majoring in Architecture. She raced in the 60m, 200m, 300m, and 400m in the indoor season and the 100m, 200m, and 400m in the outdoor season. Cooke ranked 50th regionally in the outdoor 400m with a time of 1:01.70. She is also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic team member in track and field, as well as a three-time Liberty League All-Academic team member and a CSC Academic All-District honoree in women's soccer.

Bo Hopwood is majoring in Historical Studies. He competed in the 4k, 6k, and 8k during cross country season, the 800m, 1000m, mile, and 3000m during the indoor season, and the 800m, 1500m, 2000m steeplechase, 3000m steeplechase, 3000m, and the 5000m during the outdoor season. Hopwood ranked 49th in the region in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:02.33. He is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic team member.

To be recognized on the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and enrolled full-time with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. The student-athletes must finish top 50 in the region according to TFFRS. The Academic All-District Team is selected by the College Sports Communicators.
