RECAP: Women’s Squash Drops Two Matches at Liberty League Championships

The Bard College women's squash team took on William Smith and St. Lawrence in the opening round of Liberty League Championship. 

Against William Smith, at the no. 3 ladder, Hanna Okalava battled through a long four-game match that featured a 14-12 third game. Snow Queen secured Bard's lone victory at the no. 6 ladder, winning in four games and taking control in the decisive fourth. At the no. 8 ladder, Najla Nazari pushed her opponent to four games, including two tightly contested 13-11 games.

In the second match against host St. Lawrence, Catherine Chapel competed, earning 11 total points at the no. 2 ladder. Nazari was competitive at the no. 8 ladder, totaling 11 points in her match, while Noa Baede also battled for 20 points at no. 9, including a tightly contested 12-10 second game.

Next up is the third meeting of the season with Vassar tomorrow at 9 a.m.
