ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Bard College senior
Ben Steketee was named Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office, scoring twice in Bard's 2-0 week.
Steketee scored in both games, scoring the game-winning goal against St. Joseph's Brooklyn and the first goal against CCNY. He had his first start of the season since November 2, 2024, against SJBK and then against CCNY. Steketee's goal against SJBK was a rocket of a right-foot kick to the top right corner of the goal, while his goal against CCNY came just 6:23 into the game as he perfectly timed his cut into the box, allowing
Mateo Betelu to find him from the right side of the box. This is Steketee's first time scoring back-to-back goals, as he scored the game-winning goal against SJBK and the goal against CCNY.
Ben went 2-for-2 shots on goal against SJBK and 1-for-1 against CCNY. His two goals last week already tied his season high in goals, which he achieved during his sophomore year.
This marks the first career Performer of the Week award for Steketee and the first men's soccer player to earn the honor since September 5, 2023 when
Sam Gerber was named Offensive Performer of the Week.
