The Bard College track and field team raced in 10 events, jumped in one event and threw in two events against 11 teams at the Vassar Spring Invite on Saturday. Clemente Esponilla ran a 15:46.56 5k, improving his school record by 4.48 seconds.

Bard placed in the top six in four events at the meet, with standout performances across sprints, distance races, relays, and throws. The women's team's day was highlighted by Gabrielle Parchment's fourth-place finish in the 100 meters. Parchment clocked a 13.06 in the race. Jynaiya Grizzle placed 15th in the 100m, while Lismery Guzman-Cruz finished 18th, running a personal best of 16.01. In the 800 meters, Emma St. Peter ran 2:51.74 to place 20th, and Amaya Zebe-Herrera finished 24th in the 1500 meters. In the field events, Guzman-Cruz recorded a personal best of 6.58 meters (21-7.25) in the shot put.

The men's team placed in the top six in the 4x100m relay, the javelin throw, and the 5k. The 4x100 squad clocked 47.83 to finish fifth. Johnny Henriquez competed in his first collegiate meet, placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 30.35 meters (99-7). Esponilla's performance placed him sixth in the field. In the sprints, Lazaros Panagiotounis led Bard in the 100 meters with a 12.04 and finished 34th in the 200m with a 24.99. Avery Crafton and Henriquez also competed strongly in the sprints, with Henriquez setting personal bests in both the 100m (12.42) and 200m (26.45). Kai Washington clocked a personal best in the 400m with a time of 59.22. In the distance events, Calvin Thomas placed 15th in the 1500m (4:58.14), followed closely by Ilyas Hotak, who ran a personal best of 5:00.39.

The Liberty League Championships will take place on May 2 and May 3 in Rochester.
