The Bard College women's lacrosse team capped off its non-conference slate with a victory, defeating Manhattanville 13-9 on Wednesday evening.
Izzi Popolizio recorded nine points, scoring four goals and tallying five assists, all season-highs. She nearly tied the program record of ten points.
Emerson Embrey stuffed the stat sheet, scoring three goals, recording an assist, picking up a game-high eight ground balls, setting a career-high with six draw controls, and causing three turnovers.
Maya Junkins collected a career-high three points through two goals and an assist.
Gwendolyn Jamison tied a career-high with four goals, adding an assist.
Lily Seale had her first career caused turnover, adding a career-high two ground balls.
Morgan Ruhle had eight ground balls and three caused turnovers, both tied for the game best.
Kayla Francis collected three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and a draw control.
Lexie Blackburn had ten saves, her fourth 10+ save game of the season. She added a caused turnover and a ground ball.
Rian Sullivan impacted the game with two caused turnovers and one ground ball.

The Valiants struck first less than two minutes in, but Jamison responded within a minute and erupted for three first-period goals. Embrey added a shorthanded score. Bard kept the momentum in the second, netting four goals — Popolizio assisted Junkins followed by Embrey, and Popolizio added a free position goal before Embrey capped the 6-0 run. Manhattanville answered late in the period.
Bard started with a four-goal lead in the second half, but Manhattanville stormed back with four straight goals and lockdown defense. Bard regrouped as Popolizio converted a free position shot at 3:50, and Jamison connected with Junkins to restore a two-goal cushion. In the fourth, Popolizio found Jamison for an insurance goal at 13:46. A Manhattanville green card at 8:16 led to a flurry of Bard shots before Popolizio broke through. She sealed the win at 4:55, finishing an Embrey assist in the clutch.
RIT awaits Bard on Friday at 4 p.m. as conference play heats up.
