ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's basketball team has four 2024-25 Division III Academic All-District honorees, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom.
The four students honored with this award are senior
Maggy Peyton, junior
Shirley Dong and sophomores
Aislynn Dixon and
Jessica Martin.
Senior
Maggy Peyton is majoring in sociology/studio art. She played in 22 games, starting 17 of them for the Raptors this season. She ranked fourth on the team in rebounds, with 89 (4.0 per game). Peyton produced season highs of 14 points and 10 rebounds. She had nine games with five or more rebounds and two games with double-digit points. She is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic honoree.
Junior
Shirley Dong is majoring in biology. She started in all 25 games for the Raptors this season. She led the team in minutes, with 778 (30.6 per game), which ranked her sixth in the league. Dong produced season highs of 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. She had six games in which she scored double-digit points and had 34 steals (1.4 per game). She is also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic honoree.
Sophomore
Aislynn Dixon is majoring in psychology. Dixon started in all 25 games for the Raptors this season. She ranked third on the team in scoring with 187 points and number one on the team in three pointers made per game, with 1.6. Dixon produced season high performances of 23 points, seven rebounds, and seven three pointers made. She finished eight games with double-digit points this season. She is a Liberty League All-Academic honoree.
Sophomore
Jessica Martin is majoring in biology. Martin played in 25 games, starting three for the Raptors this season. She ranked fourth on the team in minutes per game (25.4), third on the team in threes made (17), and was second on the team in minutes played in conference play (471). Martin produced season highs of 11 points, three three-pointers made, five rebounds, and three steals. She is a Liberty League All-Academic honoree.
To be recognized on the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and enrolled full-time with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. The student-athletes must also have competed in 90 percent of the institutions' games or must start in at least 66 percent of games.
