ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Bard College first year Ivan Borshchev was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office. 

Borshchev went back-to-back wins last week in singles #3 and doubles #1. Against Marywood on Tuesday, he defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-1, while on Sunday against Yeshiva, he defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-2. 

Borshchev tag teamed with Nick Oh, who was named to the Liberty League Honor Roll, at No. 1 doubles and won both their doubles matches, 6-2 against Marywood and 6-4 against Yeshiva. 

This marks the first time a Bard men's tennis player has earned Rookie of the Week performer and second award for the men's tennis this week after Oh was named to the Liberty League Honor Roll.
