RECAP: Swimming competes against Vassar and New Paltz

| By:
The Bard College men's and women's swimming teams opened their 2025–26 season on Wednesday night in a tri-meet at Vassar College, competing against the Brewers and SUNY New Paltz.

Sophomore Nate Dower led the Raptors with a strong second-place finish in the men's 200-yard individual medley (2:14.66) and added a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:03.37). Dower also helped the 200 freestyle relay team — joined by Benett Hathaway, Reece Sherf, and Owen O'Reilly — to a second-place time of 1:45.87.

On the women's side, Yolanda Liu paced Bard with a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:27.02) and 100 butterfly (1:13.06). Katelyn Campoverde contributed with strong efforts in the 50 freestyle (32.39) and 100 backstroke (1:20.75).

Vassar and New Paltz came away with team wins, but Bard continued to build early-season momentum with several encouraging swims and improved times across the board.

The Raptors return to action on October 25th when they travel to Sarah Lawrence with a 1 p.m. start.
