The Bard College women's squash team took down Vassar 4-3 in hostile territory on Saturday, which marked their first win over Vassar in program history. The Raptors took ladders 4-7 in decisive fashion, with just one set dropped between the four games.
Tee Williams clinched the match at ladder 5. They showcased a strong mentality after finding themselves down a set after a close 11-9 win by Vassar. They responded, winning three straight sets in which they dropped just eight points.
Najla Nazari was through her game at ladder 7 in just 14 minutes, starting off strong with an 11-2 set. She dropped the fewest points at just nine.
Mona Haidari had a pair of 11-2 victories in the final two sets of her ladder 6 game, which breezed by in 15 minutes.
Hanna Okalava earned a 3-0 victory at ladder 4, showing she was up to a third set challenge by her opponent, taking it 12-10.
Meherin Hossain had an evenly matched opponent at ladder 3, where she took a nailbiter first set 16-14.
Tarana Downer and
Nioby Rodriguez headed the team at ladder 1 and 2, respectively, challenging their Brewer opponents.
The Raptors will head to Mount Holyoke with a road win under their belt on February 1 at 1:30 p.m.
