The Bard College women's basketball team dropped a Friday night road contest at Clarkson, 36-67.
Lexi Miller led the team with her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Miller added a block and turned the ball over just once in 28 minutes.
Jessica Martin played a career-high 34 minutes and picked up three rebounds.
Maggy Peyton had six points and three rebounds, going 4-of-6 from the line.
Shirley Dong had ten points, five assists, and two steals.
Alexandria Thomas scored her first collegiate points and grabbed two rebounds.
The Raptors scored the first basket of the game off of a post touch by Miller, but the Golden Knights responded with strong drives that forced seven Bard fouls. The Raptors made two of their first three shot attempts to start the second, including a nice drive and finish by Dong. At the 1:58 mark in the second quarter,
Alexandria Thomas scored the first point of her career on a free throw after getting fouled on a putback layup attempt.
The Raptors outscored Clarkson in the third quarter 15-9, with seven made free throws being the difference-maker. The Golden Knights were held to 40% shooting from the field in the second half, but they built an insurmountable lead in the first half. Bard outrebounded Clarkson 38 to 29.
The Raptors finish their four-game road trip tomorrow at 2 p.m. against St. Lawrence.
