Izzi Popolizio broke her own school record of assists in a single season as the Bard College women's lacrosse team fell to RPI, 20-4 on Friday afternoon.
Popolizio was tied for first with Brianna Bean with 19 assists last year and, coming into the game against RPI, she only needed two assists to break the record.
Maggy Peyton scored Bard's first goal in a woman-up situation in the first period, then scored her second goal off an assist from Popolizio.
Peyton and Popolizio flip-flopped goals and assists for the Raptor's third goal in the third period.
Ella Perreault scored her first collegiate goal off of an assist from Popolizio in the fourth period giving the Raptors one goal in each period of the game.
Lexie Blackburn had seven saves, placing her second all-time in career saves with 205, surpassing Maddy Huggins. Peyton totaled two draw controls, while
Paige Gregg and
Emerson Embrey each had one.
Morgan Ruhle and Gregg caused one turnover each. Ruhle and Blackburn had a team-high three ground balls each.
Bard will travel to no.13 Ithaca tomorrow at 2 p.m. to conclude conference play.
