ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y--- The Bard College swimming team battled off against a strong opponent today in St. Lawrence in their third meet of the season on Saturday afternoon. The men fell short with a close score of 65-73 points, and the women with a score of 44-137 points. 

A standout moment for Bard came in the 100 Yard Butterfly, where freshman Nate Dower took first place with a swift time of 57.08, holding off his St. Lawrence competitor, who finished at 57.89. This impressive win marked a memorable start to Dower's collegiate career. 

Another notable performance on the men's side was senior Freddy Coronel in the 100-yard IM, where he secured first place with a time of 1:01.29. He brought in critical points and energized the Raptors for the rest of the meet.

On the women's side, Mary Mendez claimed second in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a strong time of 28.70, finishing just behind the first-place swimmer from St. Lawrence. Senior Olivia Dower swam an impressive 100-yard butterfly, finishing second at 1:06.29, narrowly missing her personal best and school record of 1:04.89. Dower also took third in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, finishing just half a second off her best time and demonstrating consistency across multiple events.

Bard will be back in action on Saturday, November 16th, as they travel to face Mount St. Mary's in their next meet.
