The Bard College swimming team traveled to Potsdam for their first road dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The men narrowly lost 68-85 points, while the women fell 40-136 points. 

The most notable win of the meet was Hal Beatty's win in the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Beatty fell behind in the first half of the 500-yard free by over four seconds before returning and taking the victory with 100 yards to go. He dropped his lifetime best by over 16 seconds. 
Nate Dower swam a personal best time of 2:12.46, taking first in the 200 individual medley. Freddy Coronel won the 100 breaststroke and swam a personal best of 1:10.53. 

On the women's side, four Raptors were close to breaking their personal best time. Yolanda Liu, Mary Mendez, and Julia Pelletier were close to breaking their PR in the 200 freestyle. Liu was 0:00.04 off her PR of 2:20.55. Mendez was two seconds off, while Pelletier was five seconds off. Liu finished 2nd in the 100 butterfly and was off her best by four seconds, finishing 1:09.39. Olivia Dower finished 3rd in the 100 breaststroke and was off her best by two seconds. 

Bard will host St. Lawrence on Saturday at 1 p.m.
