ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Bard Athletics announced on Monday the hiring of Lydia Johnson as its new Assistant Athletic Trainer. Johnson joins Bard following a year as Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at SUNY Brockport and is currently finishing her Masters Degree at SUNY Plattsburgh.
"I am very excited to be able to work with Bard College Athletics," said Johnson. "I'm looking forward to being part of the Sports Medicine Team."Â
"We are very excited and fortunate to have Lydia join our Sports Medicine team," said Samantha Robbins, Director of Sport Performance/Head Athletic Trainer. "Lydia's experience with SUNY Brockport will serve as a great asset for Bard student-athletes."
Johnson comes to Bard after a year with Brockport, where she worked closely with coaches and student-athletes in several Division III sports for the Golden Eagles. She also worked as a preceptor for the master's program, and also served as a per diem AT at Division II Roberts Wesleyan University.
A graduate of Brockport, Johnson earned her bachelors in Athletic Training and was also honored with the Clinical Experience Award from the department. She was a member of the Brockport women's rugby team and served as a captain of the club for two years.
